Issue with Waiving Fees for ACH Retry Transactions

We are aware of an issue impacting ‘retries’ for ACH transactions.  Currently, NSF and/or Courtesy Pay Fees are not being waived on some ACH Retry transactions.  We are currently researching this matter and will provide an update when we know more.

**UPDATE 2/25/2025 10:45 AM CT** Our research showed that apparently some merchants submit retries using a different data element from the place where we usually look for the RETRY (or RETYR or RETRR) descriptive text. We will be expanding our program so that it looks in one more place, in an attempt to catch more of these. Remember that there is no standard that all merchants follow when submitting a retry, and we expected that our programs would need to be adjusted over time as we see other variations come in. We anticipate the program change to be implemented very soon and will update this alert at that time.
